I think martinis should be stirred only. If shaken, I find, it comes out too "foamy." Rum drinks, on the other side of the coin, almost always seem better shaken. Never got that James Bond line, that he liked his vodka martinis "shaken, not stirred." Huh? To me that's like saying "I like my people to be slaves, not free."
