Pineapple plants will grow just fine in indoors they just get big and have spiny leaves. I do live in florida and it is quite easy to grow here but I thought some friends in Oregon how to grow and their's is growing quite nicely. It's about 1-1/2 to grow a pineapple. I do not prefer the plants on the stake that you can buy at places like Home depot and Target. Just cut the top off a pineapple, dry out for a day and plant. Just that easy...Hope that helps any.
