I've never seen Bob in the flesh and don't live anywhere near him...but maybe someone could show a Tiki Bob mug to the new owner, explain the history and offer to return him to his former glory for some free crepes. Hopefully they'll understand that an important tiki landmark can do nothing but bring in more business.
