I made a few discoveries today. First of all, I should have followed Benzart's advice to the letter. I raised the tiki up, but not to hip level as he said, but more like stomach to chest level. This was the cause of the pain and tingling in my arm. When I started, I felt it immediately. My arms were bent up too much and it just kept blood from flowing well.

So, I re-cut my support pieces. I could only drop it a couple of inches, but it helped. I think I may just drop it another inch by attaching the V supports to the table top. It could be lower even and be better.

I also started working all around the piece. I finished the head dress more on the left:

And then started on the right side just removing all the wood to get the depth:

The eye is bugging me. I want it to be a lower height then the head dress so it'll be in it's shadow. But that will require removing 1/4 to 1/2 inch off the eye. That's a lot of work. I just do not want to do it, but I want it to look right. The head dress is the only thing at the right depth. The nose needs to be much more round, which means depth. The eyes need to be set deeper. Is there a better way to take that eye down that a chisel and a lot of work and time?
