Aaron, what do you mean by a burr? A bit for a drill or rotary tool or a hand tool like a rasp?

We have this type at work. Is this what you mean?

No, those are rifflers, and I don't think they'll be much help. I was thinking of these cheap burrs, which have been working pretty well for me lately. I use them after the rough chiseling, but before the 60 grit sanding. It's an intermediate step that will save lots of sanding aggravation and loss of skin on your fingertips. These burrs are the best around, but beyond my own personal tool budget for the next while.

Your tiki is not ready for the burr treatment just yet, but you may want to think about it after you've done as much as you can with the chisels. They really help to shape the wood and add roundness and nuance to the features. The best thing to use to spin your burrs is a die grinder, but like I said, a regular drill could work in a pinch.

I know you've seen this post before, but may want to revisit it again. It's the way I've been doing things lately, but then again there's lots of ways to skin a cat (or tiki for that matter).
