it is looking good so far. like Ben said carving is solving many different problems. The more complicated the carving the more of them you have to solve.

carving tikis are filled with different levels/Layers, some parts are raised other lowered. you need to decide which is which. THis is one of the biggest problem you will have to solve as you carve, always checking to see if this feature needs to be higher or lower then the last feature.

the eyes and the nose are good examples of the layers. If you want the nose rounder itmay have to be deeper, which will effect the eyes and the mouth below.

If you want your eyes lower, then carve them lower. i know that sounds simple, but it kind of is. Do as Ben said take a layer off at a time. One problem begining carvers always have is not going deep enough, so don't be afraid to lower a feature or go deep.

If you make a mistake, don't worry, every mistake is actaully a small sucess. Meaning every mistake should tell you what not to do again, or what to do the next time. Carving is something that you need to do, to understand it.
