These are what I use in addition to a big 3" flat sorby chisel . I use the flat and the 6103 the most for removing wood. I also use a Dolmar chainsaw (modified top secret) with a carving bar.

Swank, around those eyes on the tiki, I would be trying to make a V shaped cut in there. Right now it looks like you are cutting straight down instead of going in at an angle.
