Been too busy. I am here in Tampa with Pablus this weekend. Come on over to the Lagoon tonight...

I have enough irons in the fire right now that I am not sure when carving will get back on the table. Could be next weekend, but... life... you just never freakin' know. But it's all sinking in really. There are things you learn while you carve and things you learn reflecting on carving.

In reflection, I am tempted to get a nice Makita angle grinder and Lance-A-Lot and start at it further. Next time, that's how I will start. Get rid of a lot of wood that way first. But I consider this a project to learn and I'll learn doing it the "hard" way.

I think as you go, you don't get better as much as you get faster. You do both, but I bet my speed will increase much faster than my skill.
