I've been at least vaguely aware of tikis for as long as I can remember, and the heads on Rapa Nui are always cool. About a year ago I actually got a chance to visit Maui and bought an 8" tall hand-carved Tiki at an outdoor bazaar in Lahaina. So far this is my only tiki, though I certainly intend to get more -- the polynesian art bug bit me, and bit me HARD. I'm a college freshman right now, so money is a little bit tight, but a new store just opened at the local mall selling statuary and masks from across the globe, predominantly African and Polynesian. Really good prices too. So how do I get a six-foot tall Tiki into my dorm room...?
