As this game apporaches 20 pages, it might be a good idea to go over the "directions" once again. Since this game has moved from the 'Test Messages' forum to 'Bilge', I've seen waaaaay too many posts by folks who obviously don't know the gist of the game. This is NOT the 'Word Association' game! Please - it's a lot more fun for all of us if you actually try to follow correctly!

Ok, Second word-game now starting.

Start with a Common Phrase, Proper Name, or Title. Next person takes the last word or syllable of the previous phrase (or valid homonym) and starts a new phrase. Next person takes the last word of that phrase and starts a new one. Example:

Poster 1: "I'll Be A Monkey's Uncle"
Poster 2: "Uncle Sam"
Poster 3: "Sam I Am"
Poster 4: "Amway Calling"
Poster 5: "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft"
etc.

If we were playing this in real life, You'd have to recite the complete sequence from memory from the start before adding your own phrase:

"I'll Be A Monkey's Uncle Sam I Amway Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft...Macaroni & Cheese".

Doctor Z and I (when drunk) have memorized and spouted hundreds of lines of this back and forth all night.

Only rules: Try to make the phrase or name a Real name and somewhat recognizable or verifiable. Also, try to give the next person in line half a chance, (for example, try not to end with the title "The Island of Doctor Moreau".

If we hit a dead-end. Someone just start with a new phrase.

Ok. Is that simple and mindless enough?

I'd also like to emphasize that the shorter the phrase, the better.

Personally, I like the idea of "skipping over" posts that don't fit by quoting the last relevant post in the sequence - helps keep the game on track, doncha know...

Let's pick back up with this one, shall we?
