To shoot at individuals from a concealed place.

To make malicious, underhand remarks or attacks

Spike:

A sudden steep increase in price

O.K. so you spike the ball & you snipe the bid but the intent is the same I'm thinking?

In any case as long as we are helping the economy with our bidding practices.
