I've stayed at the Suburban before -- I'd say it would count as a dive in most any other city, but by Modesto motel standards, it's pretty middle-of-the-road. Not as, uh, "nice" as the Days Inn, but less of the this-could-be-potentially-life-threatening vibe than the Chalet & the Tropics.

Man, y'know what? The Budget Inn experience during Hurricane Jeanne in Ft. Lauderdale last year still has me too squicked out to stay in dive motels. shiver What's happened to me?
