The Hukilau exceeded my expectations in every way! What a way to end a week long road trip.

The Robert Drasnin set brought tears to my eyes as well. I think we finally got to hear what exotica music sounded like during the heyday live with a large orchestra of incredibly talented musicians and a beautiful singer with a heavenly voice - formikahini, of course. This performance was the highlight for me of my entire week-long road trip and the Hukilau.

The only thing that could possibly have followed Friday night's performance without seeming anticlimatic was a night at the Mai-Kai. Although the place was packed to the gills the staff were amazing. They never seemed to break a sweat and were in a million places at once. The girls in the Molokai bar did an incredible job and kept smiling all the time. Mahalo to all the Mai-Kai crew!

Thank you tiki-kiliki for a fabulous time four nights straight. The fun never let up! And thank you JT for the incredible musical talent in every band that performed (the variety of music was terrific), and for the good bartenders in the Bahia Mar who made many delicious zombies for me.
