A-A, i agree that we need to go as close to the original source as we can. i do see lots of variations even in some of the "original" carvings, so i guess the old-schoolers took the basic look and put their own interpretation on their carvings, which i most likely will be doing, probably more inadvertently than intentionally. :)

Rodeo, i was wondering the same thing about the back; i have a resin figure identical to the #2 photo that i posted, so i can use that as a guide for the back side of the body, but i'll have to use my imagination for the back of the headdress. if anyone has photos of Kanaloa's backside, or any imaginative ideas, please share!

Hewey, how about if you send me one of those original "Hewey's Tiki Lounge" t-shirts that you were talking about making, and i'll wear it during the half-marathon...? size Large please. :)
