Me would like to inquire about smiling Wahine that I once photographed in situ at the Kahiki, for my book (p. 147). Though she now looks like she's had some damage since....

Now I remember why I referred to LaVisse as a "student" of Leeteg:
All but the above girl are almost straight copies from bestselling Leeteg paintings (top to bottom):

"Tahitian Chief"
"Hawaiian Beach Boy"
"Adze Man"
and, of course, "Hina Rapa", which was again "borrowed" by Palm Springs' "Chi Chi" nightclub.

And furthermore, in the do-cee-do of Poly Pop, because ol' Leeteg always worked from photographs, two of the above copies were previously copied by Leeteg himself, from art photos of other photographers! :o

...all in the tradition of what I refer to as the Polynesian Pop "Chain of Transmission" :)
