I cannot make any firm statements on the behalf of the owners for I am not Cookie or Sonny. I know them and every family member very well, and know the business very well.
There are many rumors that I have heard over the years,(on here about Walgreen's-that's a new one). The one person had the right idea, just talk to the owners. You would be suprised at what the truth is. And there are only two people that you can take the word of, Cookie and Sonny.
Like I said the family is business minded, and the best way to ensure that the family stays there is to make the business profitable. So go on and keep enjoying the H.K. expereience. Stanley and Rose put many years of hard work into the Lounge and South Seas Shop, but don't think for a minute that they wouldn't have thought about selling if the business wasn't worth it.
I can say for them that it is very encouraging to hear that so many people are interested in having the place stay around for a while. Usualy the bad experiences are the only things you hear about. It is also comforting to hear about all of the different lives that have been touched throught the years, and their experiences.
