By forcing a lens of modern cynicism onto one's view of everything, I guess it's possible to miss the fantastic abstract and stylized artforms in Mary Blair's design of the Small World ride.

So let me get this straight: in your view, if I don't care for It's Small World, that automatically makes me a postmodern cynic who reviles everything pure and innocent? Don't you think that's a bit presumptuous and judgemental?

I enjoy Disneyland immensely and have for my entire life. But that doesn't mean that I'm required to love and worship every single part of it like it's a holy temple, and I don't need a theme-park ride full of singing dolls to teach me about optimism and sentimentality. I have 2 kids who've shown me more about that than Small World ever could.
