My dad is a garage sale hunter from way back and I suppose I have him to thank for passing the germ on to me. I KNOW it doesn't come from my mom's side. Anyway, he's retired and can go to the sales while I have to work so I have him on the lookout for tiki goodies. If he finds me anything tiki, I love it. He knows it is better to go ahead and spend a couple of bucks for something and let me decide later if I want to keep it or not. Usually there isn't a lot out there but occasionally he finds something I really like and I appreciate it so much. I never tell him when I don't like stuff because he was so kind to think of me and I don't want him to feel as if I am rejecting his thoughtfulness just because it was something I would not have bought myself. Here is his best score so far. I know some may not like this but I think it's great! It's vintage, made of plaster and was used as a table top candle holder. The light was inside and shone out from eyes, nose and mouth. I've never seen another like it. Thanks Dad!!
