Several breweries wanted to buy the name as it implies a certain permanance and all, and a link to "the old days" but the company that held the rights to the name would not sell it. At some point the Ficticious Business Name rights time expired, and that very day the owners of another brewery applied for and got the name for the price of the filing,a nd publishing of it, and wouldn't allow the old brewery to use it. (I can't remember now if it was Sierra Nevada, Deschutes or one of the others who did it) but the once friendly world of Micros has a fair amount of skullduggery now. The most famouse of these is Sam Adams who portray themselves as tiny, but have ltitgated smaller breweries out of business (for using the word "Boston")
