{Makes me wonder abou tthe stuff I saw and handled at the collector's home I visted. He had a lot of early stone carved pieces.}

I was thinking the very same thing. I have been hooked on New Guinea artifacts, ever since my visit to a collectors house. I have been buying up pieces each payday, and reading up on all I can find.Of course I can not afford the really expensive pieces, but I have found some very good solid artifacts with a history and usually the native group that made the item.

Funny how a idle collecting hobby has turned my life in this direction.
Now I wonder if anything I have may be so old as in the article.
Wow, it boggles the mind to think that there could be a small chance that I can hold a piece of art that may pre-date any white mans arrivalin the area.
I just finished up reading the Milt Machlin book on THE SEARCH FOR MICHEAL ROCKEFELLER. Such an interesting area New Guinea is.
