I got interested in the drinks during a trip to the big island in 2002. A couple years later I found a copy of Tiki Road Trip and it's been all downhill since then. Recently I've been mixing like a madman. My favorite books so far are Trader Vic's 1946 Book of Food and Drink and the 1971-2? TV Bartender's guide. I visit the local TVs once in a while and I'm planning a return visit to the Tiki Ti soon. They never seem to be open when I've time to get there. I've been lurking here for a while and learned quite a bit from you all. -Sam
