While I was still a baby, my family moved to Anaheim, California. In true Disneyland-type fashion, my father made our backyard a little spot of paradise including a lanai (with aqua-green and pink alternating fiberglass panels for the roof), tiki torches, and outdoor stereo speakers so we could enjoy his Arthur Lyman records. He planted bird of paradise, bamboo, and a banana tree. When he passed away I inherited his ukulele. I love rum. How could I not have tiki in my blood?
