Aloha, Marka. And welcome to Tiki Central. Good to see another North Bay person on here! I live in Santa Rosa, and have found 2 "local" places for bamboo supplies. My favorite place for live bamboo, but they also offer poles and furniture, is Bamboo Sourcery in Sebastopol ( http://www.bamboosourcery.com/ ). We have purchased many black bamboos and assorted items from them. Check out their website carefully... they have limited hours of operation which is open to the public on appointment basis only. Even if you don't purchase anything from them, their grounds are beautiful and worth the time to stroll around to see the different varities of bamboos which can grow in our area.

Also, though I have never purchased anything directly from them, you can try the Bamboo Supply Company in Benicia ( http://www.bamboosupply.net/stakesandpoles.htm ) . Their prices are great on thatching, and they have all sizes of poles available. They have supply pickup hours during normal weekdays.

I have also purchased large and small poles thru Ebay, and the shipping costs haven't been that bad.

Good Luck!
