Saw "Jersey Girl" last night, Kevin Smith's(writer/director of Mallrats, Clerks, Chasing Amy, Dogma etc.) most recent flick.

The little girl Gertie watches a cartoon that mentions a super hero fighting against terrible tikis.

In the special features on the DVD, Kevin Smith visits roadside attractions, including the Weeki Wachee Mermaids.

The cartoon Gertie is watching is called "Major Damage vs the Tiki Terrors", and it is an actual cartoon! I managed to find a copy of the comic and DVD some years back. The guy who produced/directed it is Chris Bailey. Kevin Smith added Major Damage to Jersey Girl as a nod to Bailey who directed the short lived Clerks: The Cartoon.

I'll attempt to remember and dig it out so I can bring it to Hukilau in case somebody would like to view it at one of the parties!
