Just for the record, a Heiau was not a burial spot for royalty (as stated in the first post). It was indeed a sacred spot but the focal point was a bloody rock slab where human sacrifices were made. People killed here were typically violators of the Kapu system. Gaze upon a King at the wrong time... loose your life. etc... |
