Well... I finally got off of my butt and carved something... the wash machine repair man was 4 hours late, so I threw together this tap handle. It was my first smaller one since the hook knife at coontiki... made of podocarpus, and I just spent about 3 hours on it. Turned out ok...not like I originally planned... although I now see that it is about twice as big as it should be... here's a couple pics.
