I believe it's more about enjoying one's self, and for the enjoyment of others who appreciate it. Collectors play a vital role. Someone who collects dog figurines for example, would not want, nor would expect any of their dogs to be any kind of controversial art piece. Their collection reflects a personal interest and enthusiasm for the subject matter. It's about conveying good feelings and having fun with it. That is my reason for doing it.
