The way I see it, and this may be somewhat of a summary, these are the angles:
-
Convince the owner to incorporate TV by shame
(While there is room on the site, if the Waldorf Astoria will pay for the corner location, no amout of shame may counteract the cash)
-
Either the City of BH or the State designates TV as a historic site (over the objections of the owner).
-
Attempt to influence the BH planning commission by claiming the Environmental Impact Reviw report was insufficient (I do not know of the status of this)(However, this may be difficult because the land is already zoned for a hotel)
-
Contact TV corporate to see if they will intervene.
-
Encourage the LA Conservancy to become invovled
-
Find a No-growth organization to litigate based on the increased traffic.
(Again, this may be difficult because Wilshire & Santa Monica are already busy thoroughfares, so more traffic on those streets will not be problematic)
