I forgot to mention that another way to help in preservation efforts is to make any skill you have known to the ModCom. Of course, people in the legal or architectural professions who are willing to volunteer their time and expertise are always in high demand, but other skills such as graphic design or coordinating are also valuable. Over the years I have done photography, photo scanning, vintage fashion modeling and even serving pie and coffee for the LA Conservancy/ModCom.

Also, just a reminder that if you really want to learn the ins and outs of preservation from people that have years of experience, the best way is to attend the next ModCom meeting tomorrow:

No invitation needed! Granted, there are a number of issues on their agenda for them right now such as Johnie's Broiler in Downey, but the Beverly Hilton/Trader Vic's is also a concern they have been working on since last spring.
