Read your earlier post about seeing Spamalot. Last time I was in NYC that's what we did; went to see Spamalot. We drove to somewhere in NJ I think and then parked and took the train in to NYC and got off right at Macys and walked to Times Square. Had lunch at the Hard Rock, matinee Spamalot, and then dinner at Carmens. Came home the same night. I'd be up for meeting some TCers in NYC. Never been to any of the Tiki bars in New York city. I think I'd just take the train all the way from here. Skip the driving.
