Mammoth Ivory hook carved around the shank with a Maori face. It's similar to one I saw in an Oceanic Arts catalogue, had to use gravers as well as the diamond bits as it's almost impossible to get into the detail. The dark marks are from polishing, gave the piece quite a hard polish to look aged, nearly wore off the detail around the mouth. A close up of the carving, had to take the pic side on, other pics bleached out the carving. Will get on and bind the piece tommorrow. Thanks for looking guys. Regards Flynny A.K.A.
