When I was a kid, and my Dad was stationed in the Phillippines, we had a lot of tiki/tropical decor items. We had a pair of large ceramic elephants which we used as end tables.

They had a saddle/howdah sort of thing on their backs which was decorated in different colors and was flat. It was about 9" by 12", and served as a small table surface. It extended down their sides like a blanket.

The elephants themselves were around 2 and a half feet tall by 2 and a half to 3 feet long and around 18-20" wide. The main color of the elephants was black, although I would like a lighter color.

The elephant were made with a fairly coarse stoneware type of clay, and were quite heavy.

I would love to be able to find a source for this type of elephant statue nowadays, or something similar. Does anybody know of any?
