K Dave, here are the measurments for you: length 46 inches, circumference in the center is 5 1/2, the carved ends are about 4 inches long, and their circumference is 4 1/4. I hope this has helped. I don't know if your familiar with this board but there are a quite a few amazing carvers who post here, they might be able to help you out with the carving, you can contact them through the memberslist by just sending them a private message or an email. I read in a previous post that swamp cedar is the wood Witco liked to use.
