No, It's just the biggest xylophone they make. A marimba goes about 3 or 4
octives lower. They both have wooden or those fiberglass blocks. I've been
using it like a marima by playing all the parts as low on the thing as i
can. The real small ones with the metal blocks are glockenshpiels (probably
spelled that wrong), but also used in many Les Baxter tunes. He always had
that BIG orchestra going (like I wish I had access too!).
