It wasn't that easy I can tell you that! This is my introduction post to this group. I recently spent three plus months in New Zealand where I was lucky enough to hook up with a Greenstone carver in Hokitika. Steve was very generous... taught me to carve, and let me use his space to work in trade for doing some work for him, and helping him with his classes. The short version is that I haven't been so fascinated with a materialor process since I first fell into a bucket of clay 25yrs ago. But that's another story altogether. I recently returned to the states. I'm hooked, and can hardly wait to start making things here. This forum has helped me a great deal finding resources for burrs, tools, and equipment.
