It's carved from a piece of coconut palm and finished with a coating of spar to bring out it's natural color. I don't know if you can tell in the pics, but the color of the wood starts out pretty dark at the top and fades to a very pretty, swirly light pattern at the bottom. It's just a little over 15lbs.
