How should I handle mug thieves? - General Tiki

Psycho Suzi's in Minneapolis puts a $4 mug deposit on every drink they sell; the tiki mugs they use are the Orchids knockoffs you can get from Dynasty Wholesalers by the case for about $2 a mug. The bar makes a handsome profit if a patron decides to keep legitimately or walk off with the drinkware; if not they just recycle the mug. Psycho Suzi's does not seem to struggle for business, they are elbow to elbow every night of the week sell hundreds of tropical drinks that go for $6 / $10 with mug. Now if only the drinks were a little better... The second part of my suggestion is to stop using expensive souvenir mugs like your Trader Vic coconut; get the cheapos and relax.
