I have no problem taking a mug at a restaurant. In fact, my entire mug collection once belonged to a restaurant or a bar. When we lived in Reno and Las Vegas, NV. All of our mug collection was either from a bar, hotel or a restaurant. I would say put a price tag on it or write it off as a loss and the cost of doing business. The good news is you may be able to write it off as a loss on your taxes. However, make sure you consult your accountant!
