Seems like there is a lot of bitterness and envy over his success. Personally I have met him and he seems like a sincere humble guy. He has contributed more to the tiki revival than myself and many others. In fact If I am not mistaken he made special prints for tiki central community.
I am happy for his success, and wish him even more.

COULDN'T AGREE MORE....The topic here was "do you think shags popularity is fading?",
but got "snowballed" into so much other stuff like his finances and what he can afford or not afford. WHO REALLY GIVES A SHIT!? The guy is a success story in a field/genre that is hard to become successful in. Either you like his art or you don't, but it all boils down to that its personal preference, and there is no right or wrong answer in regards to tastes! I also have to concur with a statement made earlier about I doubt I'll ever see a shag in a thrift shop! The guy has successfully secured his families futures. I don't understand why people start claiming sell out! or in it for the money! Any and probably all self proclaimed artists would sell prints or carvings for $36,000+ in a heartbeat if there was a market for their works, so cut the shit!
