Any 'tributes' to poly-pop era mug designs (frankie war gods, etc.) or direct copies (sorry, 'tributes') of Witco & menu covers & matchbooks just aren't what a design contest is all about. It's the design that's being rewarded, not the excellence of the final mug; there's a subtle difference. Hmmm. Personally, I think the Blue Hold Fast Pirate is the coolest mug I've seen in quite some time. It's totally original. The Beautiful Banana Boat is super nice (I want one!) but seems less imaginative in direct comparison.....
