I tried for both of the Crazy Al Kona mugs and had put my bids in as soon as these items were up on ebay. Then the long weeklong wait...until the ebay cockroaches came out of the woodwork to start bidding with less than 2 minutes left.

On the etched one, my final bid failed as the server spun its wheels and suddenly the bidding was over.

With the second Kona mug, similar results but I had been over-bid before the really crazy last minute bidding took place.

Ebay seems to like this sniping process but I'm not a fan. I think they should give the first bidder the right to make a last bid after the deadline has taken place, instead of allowing some bidder to come in during the last ten seconds to outbid everyone. I would have liked that option on the etched Kona mug as I was in the thick of bidding and had submitted a winning bid (before the deadline)if it had gone through. On the second, some person out of nowhere outbid everyone and I felt bad for the guy who kept bidding higher and higher to lose it at the last second. It makes me wonder who are these jokers who had all week to bid and waited to the last minute. Have any of them even been to the Kona Club? The Kona Club looks great but I prefer FI. My compliments to Crazy Al for his artistic mug. I'll have to work on getting a Kona mug in the future.
