I suppose it helps that I'm sick at home today with a cold. I am living in Seattle in wonderful Ballard, but I grew up on Oahu. Stupidly (or naturally enough) when I was living in Hawaii, I really wasn't into this stuff beyond owning a few aloha shirts (which no longer fit). But a few years I returned to Oahu with my wife and it felt really, really felt good to be back. Right after that we went to a restaurant with some tiki mugs which I thought were really cool. As a result, she bought me some repro mugs for my birthday that year that, much to her chagrin, got me started on all this. Anyway, I have a few mugs and aloha shirts, some Exotica and lounge stuff, and a great big case of tiki envy for Bay Area people with so many cool events going on all the time. I'm pretty limited in space at home, so I try not to buy too much to keep everyone happy. While I aspire to have a tiki fabulous life, the reality is a lot more limited. Oh well. That's all for now.
