EXACTLY!! Someone earlier said, "isn't tiki a state of mind?".......or something along those lines.

Sure, I guess it can be......but I would have to guess that most of us here are here because of the visual and aural elements that it brings to us.... Not some hippy way of thinking.... It absolutely IS about decor and the RIGHT music and the RIGHT dress.

The minute that these things are compromised, you've lost the soul of what most of us are into this for. I'm sure this can take the conversation into many different directions or whatever but I've been reading this thread and it's been driving me crazy. I had to say something.

I haven't been to this Trader Vics yet, but I can tell that I probably don't need to go. It's an embarrassment that, in the world capitol city of theming, a long running traditional tiki themed restaurant chain can't get it right.....for whatever reasons....
Anyway, that's my (very bold) opinion.
Sorry if I bummed anyone out.
