Ha ha, "recreational structure". That's the catch-all here, too. By applying for a permit first, we discovered that we couldn't build anything permanent on our lot. Oh well, we got a 'garden house' instead (tubular steel frame, staked in, not affixed to a foundation.) A far cry from a tiki hut, but at least we can enjoy our mai tais and lapu lapus in the fresh air.

By the way, did they request a drawing or rough sketch to be submitted as well? Apparently, they're doing that in some parts of this state.
