I joined this group a few weeks ago, but hadn't put in a formal introduction on this thread yet. So... I hail from Edmonton, AB, Canada where Tiki culture was late in coming and has long since disappeared from the urban landscape. I love all things modern and kitsch from the early to mid 20th century and stumbled onto Tiki pop culture while planning a Tiki party. I was familiar with the imagery but not the history.
