I saw an episode recently while visiting my mom. She's now in an assisted living facility. They tend to leave her TV on all the time, for company I guess. We'd been talking about the old days, she was nodding off and I was sitting there getting some work done, when all of a sudden...THAT VOICE! I turned around and there he was on the tube, The Welkmeister himself, waving his baton and doing that well-remembered smile/grimace thing. For a strange moment I thought I'd fallen asleep too and was dreaming myself back in my late grandmother's house, circa 1977...spooky! But comforting.
