I made a new mold with a separate bottom piece to accomodate the undercut rim on the bottom of the mug. When I tried to remove my model from the mold, the mold broke :( But it broke "cleanly" in half in the same direction as my separation lines so I said "What the heck? Now I've got a 4 piece mold instead of a 3 piece mold". I cast a mug last night and it seems to have come out OK. I'm still using the Cone 5 slip (since I already have a gallon of it) so I won't be able to have Babalu fire it for me but I have other options available. Thanks for the input guys, I'm ready for you to post about glazes.
