Just like beer or wine produce a different-feeling kind of drunkeness, good absinthe can produce a quite unique, lucid form of intoxication that is very conversation inspiring, or simply encourages quiet philosophical musings. --Off course you go stark raving mad after that, but that's a small price to pay! :D

Wish I could join you, folks, guess I will just have to nurse my 12 year-old Cockspur that I got at the Cologne Rum Kontor...

By the way, I am glad to see that this seminal book on Absinthe was reprinted and is available again:

This book is a sort of the BOT of Absinthe. It inspired its worldwide re-appreciation, and with its wonderful illustrations of vintage liquor ephemera and well researched histories of the artistic avantgarde's love affair with the stuff (see the Contents page in the link above), it's simply a must for any art book lover.
