thanks to both of you.....

the white walls don't do it justice.....try to imagine this lamp on a grass matted wall, surrounded by some foliage and bamboo in a dark tiki bar.....maybe on either side of an entryway as you walk into the room.....then you will see what it was that i saw in making this.....

..i really need to take pics of my lamps in their environments for the full effect....
