Thanks for all the great ideas. Well, I spent much-to-much time surfing the net but finally found and purchased wicker shades for the lamp. I will need to varnish them to more of a honey color that will match my bar, but this alone will be a great improvement....while I think about what else to do to it. There is hope for that lamp yet. :)

Just read the info on fire=retarding....great idea. Which makes me wonder...how do the Puffer Fish avoid spontaneous combustion? Is it just because of the low wattage of the lamp?
